In our GALLERY you will find a representative selection of distinctive work by watercolorist and co-owner of The Nature Connection, Bill Kirkland, as well as the photographic work of former White House Photographer, Tom Atkins.
Bill Kirkland came to Western North Carolina from South Florida where he began and developed his interest in watercolors. Surrounded by the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains, his images capture the natural essence of the area.
Tom Atkins was assigned to The White House in 1963 as President Kennedy's cinematographer, filming on a daily basis both the official and personal activities of the First Family. He accompanied the President and Mrs. Kennedy on that fateful trip to Dallas in November of '63 and was filming the motorcade from an open convertible five cars behind the President when JFK was assassinated. After Dallas, he continued his work at The White House for another five years during the Lyndon B. Johnson administration.
Mr. Atkins currently resides in Brevard, North Carolina. He continues his photographic endeavors in Western North Carolina and offers at The Nature Connection a representative selection of his current body of work.
